Last week I visited three aviation museum in Western NSW. They are as different as chalk and cheese. Temora – very neat and tidy. A good selection of aircraft. Unfortunately, a bit much to read in the historic section. Could use more audio visual. I liked the view over the ‘working’ area and the tarmac walk. HARS at Parkes – at Parkes airport a real working museum with restaurations underway. Lovely team. Parkes is a small branch of HARS at Albion Park. Would love to see more audio visual applications. Narromine Aviation Museum – i was very surprised by this small museum, which has bigger plans. Lovely layout and nice illuminations. Worth a visit and have a picnic nearby watching plane movements. If you love aviation and Australian aviation history, you must visit all three. You will come away with very different and individually pleasing experiences.
